Xena Parsons, Elite Moda Capelli and framesi Design Team member, offers her insights on a "Loving Red" February.

The key to “Beautiful Red” hair color is leaving the natural remaining pigment that underlies at the desired level whether it is red, orange or red-orange. If the hair is grey the natural pigment needs to be added in the formulation or by re-pigmenting or filling the hair.

Framesi, having pure and blended bases, allows the colorist to create long lasting red tones that fade less and stay on tone.

If the hair has a percentage of grey or lacking pigment be sure to add a Natural (NP) a Woods (W), Earth (E) or Glace (G) series from framesi Framcolor 2001 designed to work best with red tones,

Reds range from the lightest copper strawberry blonde to cool deep violet reds. This season's Spring Summer 2016 on the runway reds are Copper and shades of Burnt Umber.

After seasons of Balayage, Ombre and Sombre, update your salon guests by overlaying one of the framesi Framcolor Eclectic new warm toners, 8KT Carmel, 9HT Honey, 9AT Apricot.

Framesi Framcolor Eclectic Warm Toners will add fashionable warm tones, condition and protect the hair with a unique and long lasting encapsulation design.

The red formulas below are beautiful and long lasting but for show stopping reds I love to “Double Color” and have included optional formulas for overlay or glazes.
